Neat vintage Art Deco hanging light with frosted globe and frenal style lens.
circa 1920-40's.
Think this style of light would have been used over the concierge desk at a swank hotel or maybe over the hostess desk at a restaurant. Maybe over the cashiers station. I don't think it was produced to be over every table etc... Very Rare!
The globe, cap (canopy) and eye on the canopy are original.
The porcelain light socket, wiring and chain are not.
There are scratches on the globe that more visible when it is not lit than when on.
The cap was originally chrome plated but was scratched and rusting so it has was primed and painted black.
This was hardwired so you will have to wire it or add a switch and plug.
Would be cool in a breakfast nook or hanging over a small table.
