I am pleased to present a selection of images created by famed photographer Lee Balterman.

These are ORIGINAL 35mm slides taken by; handled by; edited by, and curated by Mr Balterman himself. The image showing the artists stamp on the slides is shown in each listing as an example of a typical mark to establish authenticity. All images have Lee Balterman’s stamp upon them. This is a unique opportunity to own an image of an Internationally recognized artist. I do not make prints; nor do I save scans; so you will receive an image that is one-of-a kind!

The large portfolio of images that I have is mainly Mr Balterman’s later work, created in the 1980’s and 90’s. They cover a vast range of subjects in Chicago; Hawaii; Mexico Spain and many other locations. If you have a particular area of interest, please let me know.

"Lee Balterman was an American photographer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Balterman graduated from high school in 1938, and later took evening classes in drawing and painting at the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1942, during World War II, Balterman enlisted in the US Army Reserves. First stationed in England, he then served in Clichy, France, working as a hospital aide and later as an army photographer. After being discharged in 1946, Balterman returned to Chicago and began working as a freelance photographer for the Globe, Rapho-Guillumette, and Black Star agencies, as well as producing covers for periodicals such as Life, Fortune, and Sports Illustrated. He was noted in particular as a photograph of ballet. He died in 2012, aged 91."

Each image is an original, "one-off" image, mounted in a 2" x 2" cardboard or plastic 35 mm slide mount. No prints or scans are included in this offer. Watermark does not appear on actual image.

As these are originals, they are only images like this in existence. By buying these items, you are purchasing all rights to these images. They are yours to do with whatever you wish.

These original, vintage images, some now over 40 years old, were created a professional photographer; using what is now considered to be vintage, or even antique, film, lenses and equipment. Many images were taken in low light conditions, and/or are of fast moving objects.

I do not significantly alter the scanned images. If the scan appears blurred or dark - that is the actual condition of the image. I will only list a poorly exposed or unfocused image if it is historically significant. It should be noted that I 'batch-scan' multiple images, at the same time, with an 'Epson 750 Pro' scanner - which, (in spite of its name) is NOT a Professional scanner. This method does not allow for individual focus, sharpness and exposure correction.  Any competent commercial or professional photo lab can scan and print much higher quality copies or prints.

Actual image may be larger than scan; which may have been enlarged to show detail, or cropped to align horizons. Minor colour correction may also have been applied.

These slides were only lightly air-cleaned with "Dust-Off" before scanning. Although they are adult owned and cared for, ( i.e. - handled with respect!) they may have (easily removable) minor marks or scratches not apparent in this scan.

Please examine the high-resolution scan carefully before bidding or buying; as there are no returns on these duplicable items.

Items will ship in a protective slide page in a new 'Stay Flat' envelope.

I will happily combine shipping of items of similar weight  - in most cases for no additional cost!

Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have.
