Photo album documenting 1926 construction of 5 million gallon reservoir near Pittsburgh

Title: Photo album documenting 1926 construction of 5 million gallon reservoir near Pittsburgh
Publication: (Pittsburgh): C. G. Wright, (1926)

Description: Hardcover. Oblong quarto, 14.5 x 8.5 inches, cloth binder housing 14 photographs, linen backed, 13 of which combine 2 photos for panoramic views that measure 18 x 7.5 inches; the 14th is 9 x 7.5 inches. Typewritten captions on versos. The first one has the purple ink stamp of the photographer, C. G. Wright. One of the photos has a billboard in it, identifying the reservoir as being built by Pittsburgh contractors as reserve water supply for General Electric, Cement Gun Co., Fred Bruner Company and L. Hays Gott & Company. All of those companies had offices downtown but this reservoir looks like it was built in a rural setting: we've spent a good deal of time researching this and can't identify where this was built. From the dates on the photos, construction probably started in spring 1926 and was completed by December of that year. Photos are in very good condition and document the digging, lining, engineering, and filling of the reservoir. At 5,000,000 gallons it is miniscule compared to the capacity of the Highland Park Reservoir (125M gallons). Very good.
