DAVID LANG. Black / white etching on Van Gelder Zonen paper, 6 ½” x 4 5/8” (image), 12 5/8” x 10 1/8” (sheet), signed (“David Lang”) lower right, indistinctly titled lower center, inscribed (“Orig. etching”) lower left, all in pencil. Undated (perhaps, the 1960s). Considerable foxing across the sheet; staining and discoloration at the left sheet edge and lower sheet edge; ¼” tear at the lower-center right sheet edge; the 1”-diameter stain, verso, is prominently visible within the composition, recto; adhesive remains above and below the image, verso; darkening and foxing, verso; tape remains in three corners, verso, the fourth corner skinned (1” x (max.) ¾”) from the removal of tape; 1” diagonal crease at the upper right sheet corner; handling creases. The sheet is in need of cleaning. Unmatted; unframed. This may be a self-portrait by Lang.
