This Kay Uptown is nothing short of amazing. The Uptowns were a very limited production of the Upbeat guitar in a rare Black finish.

This Particular Uptown came to us with the neck removed from the body. We had the Neck reset at a proper angle and also replaced the faulty Kanti Lever Neck angle adjuster(truss rod) with a Martin truss rod which is now adjusted at the end of the neck by the high fret notes(as on a Martin Guitar).

We also had the neck re fretted and new binding put on the neck. The Binding also has Gibson style fret nibs on it so no more sharp fret edges! The neck has the original paint on it but was over sprayed in a clear lacquer after this work was done. All of this work has made this guitar play better then it ever has.

The rest of the body is all original and very clean minus a few small dings and two scratches above the upper Sound hole. (pictured).

The Pickups are original and sound amazing and are the harder to find all white examples. The Bridge pickup had to be rewound because of weak output. The rest of the electronics are original and work great.

As stated the guitar has recently been re fretted so there is no playability issues.

The Tuners are also original and work as they should. There is slight paint shrinkage around the wings of the headstock on the back of it but is not an issue as far as structure.

The ornate Kay Kelvinator headstock is in great shape and really sets of this guitar.

With the work done on this guitar it now plays and feels amazing and will be usable for decades.

We will be sad when this one leaves.
