This is a carved wood pieces from Burma as pictured.  As shown in my picture, it represents two elephants in the midst of greenery probably representing a jungle or wild (or lotus?).     I don't know much about the item but know it came from Myanmar (Burma) 20-some years ago.   I assume it is somewhat old but don't have any information about date, place of origin or anything further beyond the fact it was purchased from an individual in rural Burma in the late 1990s or thereabouts.

The SIZE of the piece is approximately 7" by 7" inches or thereabouts.  It is painted and generally in very good condition --- used and not new, but not chipped, or broken or otherwise damaged in any material way.   I don't know the particular use or background but believe it may have been an insert in an interior wall of a structure, perhaps a temple or something like that.    In any event, it's attractive, interesting and not commonly available.
