Spectacular museum quality Mid 19th Century amber glass whimsical turtle. Could be a paperweight or doorstop (see text picture #10). It is not signed but all indications are it is Keene & Stoddard glass.

Pictures #7, #8, & #9 were taken with my cell phone flashlight underneath.

Pictures #10 & #11 courtesy of "The Knoph Collectors' Guides to American Antiques - Glass - Volume 2" by Jane Shadel Spillman.

The books are not included.

It is about 6" long x 4" wide x 2 3/8" high.

I cannot definitively explain the two small centered dots on the top of the shell but they are/were obviously part of the production process (see picture #1).

It is in excellent condition. The head, four feet, and shell are damage free. There is light surface wear on the top and heavier wear on the base as expected (see pictures). This piece is an outstanding example that displays exceptionally well.
