The overall condition of the upper and lower grille: shiny chrome, no cracks or breaks and it looks really good for the age- straight and clean, with no serious problems after 80 years. If you look at the bottom chromed curved piece of the lower grille that gets hit with rocks and never gets waxed you can see the overall quality of this grille. There are no cracks or breaks in the die-cast "pot" metal and the chrome finish still has a decent shine with only minor blemishes (compared to what is usually seen on this type of grille), so maybe it was re-chromed durring past 80 years? . The grille could be polished up better or could be freshly re-chromed to go on a trailer queen. It is best to use a good core like this for rechroming . Most blemishes are on the horizontal portion of the slats.. The upper grille has tiny scatterd pit bases and has better chrome than lower grille....this is what you see standing next to a car. Top emblem has a nicely restored crest and straight wings,...not much pitting. LaSalle script is nice with shiiny brass edges. Please chin the photos so you know what you are buying. If you prefer red script, I can change it out...same quality. For some reason the 1940 LaSalle 50 series grille is harder to find than 52 series, maybe more 50's got crushed.
Listing is for two grilles, script and top emblem. Bidders may bid on any combination of the four pieces....please specify. Shipping stays the same FREE for USA l. Each piece has a value, and you can buy just what you need.
