This is a classic, top quality, cashmere wool coat with silver grey mink collar and cuffs. The main fabric is a pale navy blue, what some people would call a true navy which is not as dark as we often think of navy. The colour is probably most accurate in the last photo. There are no labels and I can only guess at the fabric content, but it feels so smooth and soft, I am sure it is at least part cashmere. It has a silver gray mink Peter Pan collar and completely buttons up the front. It also has the same fur at the end of bracelet length sleeves. I love bracelet length sleeves on a coat because it gives you an opportunity either to get creative with your jewellery or gloves or both! The coat is lined with a thick, smooth, quality deep blue/purple satin. It has pockets and an internal tie belt. The collar also has fur hook and eye so it can be completely closed (not shown) making the collar almost seamless.

It is surprising there are no labels as this is obviously a quality made coat. The materials are high end from the outer fabric, lining, to collar and cuffs. It has bound button holes and lots of hand finishing. The back of the neck, there are a few x stitches where the label was,

It is modelled by Faye who measures 34-25-35. It is meant to have a bit of a loose silhouette but can accommodate a few sizes. It measures 42 at the bust and waist and 44 at the ships. There are not really any seams to measure on the shoulders (interesting seams around the shoulders and drop shoulders) but I reckon they are about 16 inches. The length down the centre back is 39 inches excluding the collar.

This coat is in very good condition. The outer fabric and fur is excellent. There internal tie looks to have been replaced (not seen when worn). The lining is that vintage purple blue that quite often shifts in colour over time so it has blue bits and purple bits. It is subtle and again not seen when worn. It is intact. There is a button and thread loop under the collar as well as the hook and eye on the collar. The thread loop has broken as they often do and I don't know how to effectively fix it so have left it. You don't need to use it so it can be left or you may have more skills than I do. This is truly a lovely example of a classic 1950s coat. It can be casual or dressy and the grey mink is unusual.

Postage is higher than usual because of the weight of the coat and bulk.

Please zoom in on the photos and feel free to ask any questions.

I ship tracked and insured worldwide. I only charge for the actual postage costs (I do not charge for packing materials or my time). I make educated estimates for shipping but if I have overestimated, I do refund the difference. I do combine for shipping and have organised it so that if you put items in your basket, you will see this reflected in the overall shipping costs but again, if the total shipping comes in less than quoted, I will refund the difference.
