Photograph Notes: This six light window contains fragments of glass from the 14th and 15th centuries. The two central lights date from the 14th century, but are in the style of the 13th century. The painting is very vigorous and the colour is good. The first and sixth lights contain fragments fitted together by Miss Joan Howson in 1957. The fragments were originally located all around the church. The first, 2nd, 5th and 6th lights are mainly 15th century glass. There are many subjects depicted, biblical scenes, coats of arms, and symbolic events etc. Along with decorative work. The 14th century panels are all in colour with little grisaille and include the creation, Adam and Eve, the Magi, and Christ in the Temple. The 15th century panels in the leftmost light are various figures including the Pope, a King, a Saint, Saint Etheldreda and a Trinity panel. In the second light are scenes from the childhood of Christ and a lute player. The fifth light includes a rare portrayal of Joseph being attacked by the Virgins suitors, while the sixth light contains fragments that include an identifiable Saint Catherine and a Candlemass procession.
