Listed French French sculptor Louis Octave Mattei (1877-1918) Signed, on lower right, this rare WWI French militaria Bronze, wall hanging plaque, dating circa, 1916. The plaque is entitled at the top "Joffre à la Marne" and portrays Marshall Joffre pointing to his soldiers the direction of the attack and exclaiming "Et maintenant en Avant" (Now, let's go). It is in Wonderful condition with a nice, even patina (and a little dust). Plaque is wired and ready for hanging.
Plaque measures approx. 6 1/2" Tall, 8 1/2" Wide and 3/8" Thick and is in Very Good to Excellent Antique condition.
Plaque weighs 1 lbs., 3 oz.
