Top quality railroad watch from Waltham Watch Co. made in 1926 with fully working wind indicator.

The 23 jewel model 1908 Vanguard movement is one of Waltham's finest pieces, this one with the addition of a wind indicator, or power reserve indicator. The nickel plate movement features a fully capped Swiss lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallet stones, Diamond end stones, gold timing screws and an "Ohlson 1908" micro-regulator. This model features the "Lossier Inner Terminal" hairspring which was a development aimed at countering certain timekeeping issues found with earlier hairsprings. The watch has a gold alloy centre wheel, and train jewels encased in gold chattons along with a fully jewelled patented "safety barrel". In summary this represents the peak of watch development for the time.
This particular watch is running strong in all positions and is keeping excellent time, the wind indicator function works as it should.
The watch is crown wind and lever set, both functions working smoothly (withdraw the small lever by the 11 and rotate the crown to set the time).

Beautiful 14K gold filled case with screw on/off front and rear covers is in super fine condition. No dents, dings, abrasion, or wear through and all of the gold is bright and lustrous. The covers remove and replace easily and both close down square and tight. An exceptional case!

The multi sunk white enamel dial is in as new condition as are the blued steel railroad style hands, all under a new acrylic crystal.

Overall a very collectible railroader in exceptional super fine condition, and all working as it should.

Thank you for looking and please check out the other fine watches I am currently listing.
