1953 Selmer Super Balanced Action SBA alto saxophone, s/n 52595. The lacquer is original and approximately 95% remains. The pads are in excellent condition, and the sax still has a full set of the original domed metal resonators. The neck is original to the saxophone and has a matching serial number. It has never been pulled down. The sax comes with a set of Oleg key risers. For me, these dramatically improve the ergonomics of the horn, but can be easily removed by the next owner if desired.

Late SBA's can be incredible horns. They have the sweetness and expressivity of a good SBA, but gain extra power and projection, similar to a Mark VI. As such, these are incredibly versatile horns that are perfect for a jazz combo or lead alto in a big band. This is a great playing horn that I'm sure will make its next owner very happy.

US buyers are free to return the sax for any reason, provided you pay shipping and insurance both ways. The sax must be returned in its original condition. Returns are subject to a 3% restocking fee.
