The clear glass material allows you to easily see how much butter is left and the included tray keeps it neat and tidy. It's dishwasher safe, refrigerator safe (of course).  I leave my butter dish out all year except for very hot weather when the butter gets too soft.

I have owned this butter dish for many years.  It is in excellent condition -- no chips or cracks.
