History - The 35th Panzer Regiment was formed in Nov. 1938 in Bamberg and was eventually attached to the 4th Panzer Division. This unit was in Poland in 1939 and moved to the Eastern Front in 1941. It saw action on the Bug, Berezina and Dniepr Rivers and areas around Kiev, Stalingrad, Kursk and Kowel. It also fought at Kurland in the summer of 1944 as the Soviets began Operation Bagration to focus on Belorussia/Baltic coast. Army Group North was effectively cut off from routes to East Prussia and over 33 Divisions resisted in this area until May 1945.
