Perfect glass throughout, no cleaning marks, scratches, haze, or fungus, no interior dust. Overall excellent condition, only a few slight dings on the barrel (see Pictures - only #80066 shown, #80093 similar).

The lens was designed to be used fully open, and there is no aperture adjustment. Normally lenses are designed for best resolution in the middle of the F-stop scale (typically at about F8), and resolution falls off at lower and higher F-numbers. As this lens was designed for best resolution at f2, it gives excellent performance at the low F-number.

Three Neutral Density drop-in filters (x4, x8, x16 = 2, 3 and 4 stops; or a maximum of 9 stops if stacked) are included and fit into the rear of the helicoid focuser. They are held in place magnetically, and may be stacked. (A small telescoping magnet is provided to facilitate removal.)

The lens covers the Full Frame Format (36mm x 24mm; 43mm image circle), but there is some focus softening from field curvature towards the edges of the 36mm width, and visible vignetting right in the corners. I believe that it was designed for about a 30mm image circle.

However the softening and vignetting make it an ideal portrait lens.
