Superb Japanese Meiji wood/lacquer incense box (kogo) decorated in gold and silver maki-e lacquer with flowers and  crickets (zuzumushi). Comes in a wooden box signed Shibata Zeshin, but the box itself isn’t signed. The superb intricate maki-e lacquer decoration is clearly by a master craftsman. Measures 6.5cm diameter x 2cm high.
