This antique Cajun fiddle was played by Wallace "Cheese" Read all over Southern and Central Louisiana until his death in 1981. The fiddle was 200 years old when he received it. It was brought by family from France in the early 1800s. 
In addition to the fiddle, there are two bows, a case, and a multitude of historical documents to verify the history of this instrument.
