"Whatever Happened to Charlie Battery? The 509th Armored Field Artillery Battalion August 1955-May 1957" is a 342 page, 6"x9" softcover written by George D. Brown, Jr. and published in 2013 by FDC Productions (Tucson, AZ). The author inscribed and signed (though only as George) the title page.

The 509th, known as "Charlie Battery," was deployed to Germany in the mid-1950s to guard the Fulda Gap against a Soviet invasion of Europe. From the back cover: "This account offers a personal look at the training and practices that Charlie Battery underwent from August 1955 to May 1957, eventually attaining the highest Army rating of Superior. Myriad stories show these Charlies through these days. This account also follows some of the more pertinent individuals into civilian life and into retirement."

The book is in good condition with light smudging and edge wear to the cover. The author's inscription is the only internal mark, and the binding is firm.
