The flagship of the regular line, the Kalamazoo Award, which is the culmination of the craftsmanship of the now defunct Kalamazoo factory, has miraculously arrived.
Only a few were made in the six years from 1978, and only 11 were made in 1979, making this a rare piece.
It consists of a top quality spruce top, quilted maple sides/back, flamed maple/walnut 5-piece neck, and ebony fingerboard. The pickups are BJB mini humbuckers.
The iconic eagle and wood Avalon inlays use exotic patterns for a dramatic look.
Even a single note can be played with depth and breadth, and chords can be played to create drama and persuade even the most casual chord work. It has a core, weight, and volume, so it responds well to even the lightest of touches. This is a real guitar, recommended by our webmaster.
* Please note that we do not accept transfer from one store to another.
The guitar is in good condition for its age, with only minor scratches and dings, and some parts are dull, chrome is peeling, and there are some weather checks.
The neck is near straight and in good playing condition. There is a re-nut/fret. There is an additional strap pin. Jack has been extended/changed to an end pin.
