A large and gorgeous wall hanging tapestry. Titled, "The Vintage". It was created by
a French Company called Matrex-Craye, exact date unknown. It depicts the Wine
Harvest process of the 15th century. On the right: grape gathering social event.
On the left: The wine pressing process.
The tapestry is so big, the piece had to be laid upon the floor for picture taking.
A truly unique and periodical piece. A perfect rectangular shape for a wall display.
The Tapestry is in Mint, Unused Condition. It was found "rolled up" in protected
condition. All the seams are clean & tight. No pulls or snags. The piece is perfect for
hanging, framing, or simply sprawling across a sofa. A focal point, ideal for display!
The Metrax-Craye company has over a century long experience in the high-quality
tapestries business. After a long history of company takeovers and endless factory
closures, Metrax-Craye still produces Loom pieces to this very day....one piece at a
time....by hand. Yes, they are still in business, located in the Flemish Province of
Belgium, in the small town of Waarschoot. Some of their pieces sell for $1,000's.
The original tapestry, c.1400, hangs in the Cluny Museum, Paris France.
