Petro Ivanovich Magro was born in the village Voloske, in then Ekaterinoslav (now Dnipro) province, Ukraine, in 1918. He studied at the Dnipro Art College until 1940 and after partaking in the World War II returned to his native town, where he became a member of the Ukrainian Artist Union. Petro Magro regularly participated in town, regional and republican exhibitions.
