[Used] GIBSON USA / 1975 Les Paul Custom Wine Red "1976 Spec" [S/N 926986]

The 1975 Les Paul Custom is now in stock.

Gibsons from this era are serial, making it difficult to determine the exact year, and there is a 1975 stamp on the neck end inside the front pickup cavity.
Since the pot date is from 1974, I will write it as made in 1975.

The Les Paul Custom was born in 1954 as a higher-end model of the Les Paul model, and production stopped in 1960, but production resumed in 1968.
The 1975 model that just arrived has a 3-piece maple top/mahogany body and a pancake body with walnut sandwiched between them.
One of the biggest features of this time is that the "i" in the Gibson logo on the head does not have a dot.

1975 was the final year for the 3-piece mahogany neck, and from 1976 the specifications changed to a 3-piece maple neck, but the ones that arrived had maple necks.
When you remove the truss rod, you can see the bright maple color, and it seems that this was manufactured in 1975 to the 1976 specifications.

There are several models of machine heads (pegs) these days, but this individual is mounted with a USA-made Grover 102 keystone button type.
It is a model with a distinctive look that is commonly known as the "milk bottle".

The pickup is equipped with an engraved numbered PAF. The bridge has Gibson ABR-1 wire, and the tailpiece is original and made of aluminum.
The front volume and rear tone pots are made in 1974. The rest is soldered and cannot be confirmed, but it is probably original.

Around this time, the frets changed from fretless wonder to wide frets (jumbo frets).
Since this individual is also a 76 spec, the frets are thought to be original, and the nut has been replaced.

The capacitor has been changed from the original by the previous owner, and the wiring has also been changed.
Overall, many parts remain in their original condition.

Although we cannot confirm that the hard case is original, it comes with a case from the 70's.

This is a transitional model that is unique to this period, with many specification changes from 1975 to 1976. Please experience the supreme sound unique to this era.
