Antique French Horn Handles and Silver Collars Knives, Caburol, Thiers, 6 pcs
These six beautiful antique French knives feature silver collars, stainless steel blades and horn handles. The collars are designed in the Rococo style with foliage motifs and the beautiful color of the natural horn handles varies from piece to piece. The blades are the original ones and are stamped, “125 Caburol”, cutlery manufacturer located in Thiers, in the Auvergne region of France, capital of the French cutlery industry for centuries. The blades are also stamped with the word “Inoxydable” (stainless). This set is offered in its original case marked in gilded letters “Comptoir Général. Horlogerie. Bijouterie. Bronzes. Orfèvrerie. Joaillerie. 9 Bd Poissonnière, Paris”, the name of the department store which originally sold this ensemble. The Comptoir Général was founded in Paris during the Second Empire and located on the Boulevard Poissonnière. These knives are in very good condition with the exception of signs of age and normal use. The case shows signs of wear due to age. Please refer to the detailed photos on this page.
