Antique French Tinned Metal Chocolate Easter Bunny Mold,

Musician Rabbit, Bass Drum and Cymbal, Signed Letang Fils

This rare and very charming antique French chocolate mold in tinned metal is handsomely designed in the shape of a seated rabbit playing a bass drum and cymbal. It is numbered “39" and signed, “Létang Fils. 108 r. Vieille du Temple” (the signature is partially legible). In 1880, Victor Létang took over the mold manufacturing company that his father had started in 1832 in the rue Quincampoix in Paris and named it “Létang Fils”. In 1891, Victor Létang moved his workshop to the nearby rue Vieille-du-Temple, in the Marais district in Paris. An exquisite example of French craftsmanship, this mold is in good condition with the exception of some loss of the tinning, rust and scratches, all of which lend it a lovely antique patina. There is no clip. This mold would make a delightful decorative item for your kitchen or a valuable addition to your collection.
