Antique French Carving Set, “Aux 2 Lions”, 

Horn Handles and Silver Collars

This handsome antique French carving set features horn handles joined to the blades with silver collars. The blade of the knife is stamped “Aux 2 Lions”, along with the maker’s mark consisting of two lion's heads. It is also stamped “Acier forgé”, indicating that the upper parts are steel. The horn handles display lovely nuanced colors and the ferrules, or collars, are elegantly designed with two rows of beading. This set is in very good condition with the exception of a small crack in the fork handle and a few chips on the knife handle, not unusual for bone handles and commensurate with age and normal use. Please refer to the detailed photos on this pages. This 19th century set will be an excellent addition to your collection or a charming “French” touch to your table!

We combine shipping when possible.

Items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is received.

Items in the US are sent via USPS.

Items in Paris, France, are sent by registered mail via the French Post Office or by “Colissimo” for items weighing more than 4 ½ pounds (2 kg).

Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charge. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

Return Policy

No questions asked return policy. Items must be returned in 14 business days. Item must be returned undamaged, in its original condition and packed, shipped, and insured in the same manner. Buyer pays return shipping and a 10% restocking fee.
