Ernest Combeau Master Silversmith, 1914-1924
This elegant antique French sterling silver napkin ring is designed with two borders in a Neoclassic motif. It bears the French “Minerve Premier Titre” hallmark, indicating the highest quality of French sterling silver (950/1000), used in Paris since 1838. The Minerve Premier Titre is the guarantee that the sterling is at least 95% silver. It also bears the maker’s mark consisting of the initials “E.C.” along with the image of a miner’s pick, the mark of Ernest Combeau, master silversmith in Paris located in the Rue du Temple between 1914 and 1924. This piece is in very good condition with the exception of faint scratches due to normal age and use. It will be a prestigious addition to your collection.
