This is one of a small lot of custom made Motor cover, compatible with a Empire 208, 298, and 398  Turntables. It is produced out of a solid piece of 8/4 air dried black walnut. This is not a glue up it is machined out of one solid piece. The cover is finished with 8 coats of varnish oil and a final coat of paste wax. It sits on 3  3/4" diameter Poron pads that are recessed partially into the bottom. There are two steel roll pins in the same place as the original cover to hold it in place. The idea behind this part was originally to reduce the potential for ringing from the old aluminium cover, but honestly I think it improves the aesthetics of the turntable. This auction is for the motor cover only, the turntable shown is not part of the sale.
