Grade 438 w/14K Case

Illinois Watch Co. 12 size 21 jewel open face pendant-set Grade 438 pocket watch with attractive 14K gold and enameled case.  An attractive example of this scarce high grade dress watch, the total production of the Grade 438 was 1130 made.  This example is housed in a 14K green gold case with black and white enamel inlay to its bezel, rear perimeter, and stylish "ME" initials to rear.  Dial is metal.  Movement has a wheel satin nickel plate finish and movement serial number is 3269961. Total weight of complete watch is 33.6 dwt (52.4 grams).

Running and a nice looking movement with some typical mild surface marks.  Dial has some scattered fine scratches and also has some perimeter darkening around the 2 o'clock area.  Case is very attractive with an excellent in-hand look and feel but does have a ding to its rear above center.  Case enameling is nearly fully intact with just a small flake at upper rear perimeter below the pendant area.  Good glass crystal.
