Lenovo ThinkPad T430 Core i5-3320M 4GB 500GB HDD Laptop.

This is a great opportunity to get a classic Lenovo model which is well loved due to its solid build and upgradeability.

Condition is for repairs due to a power issue. It looks very good for its age.

Features

• 14 inch screen with 1366 x 768 resolution, in good shape.
• Intel I5 3320M processor at 2.6GHZ.
• 500GB hard drive with Windows 10 home and office professional plus 2019 installed by a business. I will try to remove their data as best as I can.
• If the buyer wanted to upgrade to an SSD they could discard the current drive. I have included a note of the current Windows (but not Office) key on the base.
• Large size aftermarket battery. It is well used and only has about 25% of its original capacity, or about 17Wh. This might mean 45 minutes to an hour of power depending on use.
• Genuine Lenovo power adapter and lead.
• Lenovo hardware scan passed all components aside from the battery.

Issues

• This came to me not booting. I switched out the standard RAM and swapped in a 4GB low voltage (PC3L) RAM stick and it seems to boot reliably. This means the base RAM slot is free to upgrade.

• It runs fine in a battery but is displaying some power management issues. When mains power is connected the screen goes off (but can be seen on an external monitor).
• It also seems to switch on when the lid is closed. Basically the power prompts all seem backwards. I don’t know if this is a software, BIOS or hardware problem. It could just be battery related.
