Here's a nice World War One vintage U.S. Army squad cleaning kit manufactured by Springfield Armory for the Colt 1911 .45 automatic pistols. Designated "Pistol Cleaning Kit, Model of 1912" this kit was designed to be issued one to each cavalry troop, machine gun platoon, infantry band, artillery battery, etc. It is housed in the correct WWI era "US" marked steel box and removable wood and brass tray. The kit contains 10 brass cleaning rods, brass oil bottle, brass "cosmic" (grease) pot, 10 original blue finish combination screwdriver / take down tool, and 10 brushes some appear brass some synthetic bristles??
