Description:

Please find for offer a large Knobkerrie, probably northern Nguni, dating to the late 19th century. This is a large and heavy example that would be formidable club. It has an almost black patina that is encrusted in places. Old metal ring around the neck. Some condition issues listed below.

Dimensions:

Length: 63.5cm. Width at widest part: 12cm.

Condition:

Large split to one side of the head and a smaller split to the opposing side. Multiple dents to the head where the club has been used to hammer in nails. What appears to be a filled in split that runs the entire length of shaft. Some old worm holes to head. Age related wear as expected. Please examine photos carefully.
