The Mabuta costume was designed specifically for this task. The costume consists of a light tunic and sand-colored trousers. The tunic has two chest pockets, tightens at the waist and along the width of the sleeves and has no insignia for better camouflage. The trousers are also elastic and have 6 roomy pockets. The pocket on the left leg is used to place two flashes, on the right - for a bayonet knife. The front pockets are used to place first aid kits, knives, etc.

Such popularity of the "Mabuta" is due to the fact that a durable but lightweight fabric was used in the costume. The Mabuta had a more comfortable and "progressive" cut, the location of pockets, and a ventilation system. The Mabuta-1 suit was replaced in 1981 with the beloved Mabuta-2, which became the brand of the GRU special forces of the USSR Ministry of Defense.
