The zoom is smooth and moves cleanly throughout the full focal range without any resistance or sticking points.
Auto and manual focus is fully operational and smooth from infinity through to close focus.
The lens exposes correctly through the F stop range.
The selection switches move easily into position and without any resistance.
Optics Condition - Excellent
The lens coating is in excellent condition and reduces ghost and flare issues.
The optics are clean and the lens is pin sharp. There are no exterior marks / scratches on the glass, nor any fungus / growth within the inner elements
Cosmetic Condition - Excellent
The rubbers are in excellent condition and not slack, discoloured or sticky ensuring the lens is nice to handle and operate.
The exterior casing is in excellent condition and doesn't have any paint loss or scratches.
The lettering and model specification markings are clear and not faded
The filter thread is in excellent condition and a filter, lens cap and hood can be attached.
The scale window is clear and the scale is fully visible

A compact, lightweight standard zoom lens with an Image Stabiliser and high zoom ratio. With the Image Stabiliser turned on, you can obtain sharp, natural looking pictures in dim lighting without using flash or a tripod - Very handy for places where flash is prohibited! Uses ring-type USM for swift, silent autofocus and full-time manual focus.
The IS system reduces the possibility of blurred photographs caused by camera shake, enabling handheld photography in comparatively dim light without a flash or tripod. The IS system is composed of a pair of gyro sensors to detect vertical and horizontal motion and a microprocessor that compensates for it by shifting special lens elements in parallel with the perceived movement.
At the wide angle end of the zoom range, the equivalent shutter speed gain is approximately 1.5 stops while at the telephoto end, it is approximately 2 stops.
Perfect for all EOS Canon Digital and Film SLRs and will fit all models.
