The Classic !! Grateful Dead performance at the Lille Fairgrounds ! in Lille, France !! on the Europe '72 Tour !!! ... May 13th, 1972 ( 5/13/72 ) !!!!

Grateful Dead Fans !!! who Love & even Live-for ! that Good Ol' Grateful Dead sound ... and at it's Finest !!  Offered here is the Classic ! 5/13/72 Lille Fairgrounds Show ( Lille Fairgrounds in Lille, France ) - the 16th Show - from the Magical ! Grateful Dead Europe '72 Tour !!  And as you might well expect - considering the time & era of Grateful Dead Music we are talking about here ... the Band continues to truly " Strike-Lightning ! " during the final-leg of this Monumental Tour !  Seven ( 7 ) Shows were played at the Academy of Music in New York City in Late-March ( 3/21-28/72 ), and if you have heard pieces, parts or all of that magnificent run - then you already know how " effective " that NYC run was as the ideal " Tour Warm-Up " for this Big-Time Europe '72 stretch that was right around the corner.  Europe '72 kicked-off at the Wembley Empire Pool ( London ) on 4/7/72 & 4/8/72, as part of a two-night stand.  And right after that, the band performed at the " City Hall " at Newcastle upon Tyne, England, then to Copenhagen, Aarhus ( Denmark ), " back " to Copenhagen, to Bremen ( Germany ), to Dusseldorf ( W. Germany ), to Frankfurt ( W. Germany ), to Hamburg ( W. Germany ), to Paris, to the Bickershaw Festival ( Wigan, England ), to Amsterdam, to Rotterdam ... and then ' back ' to France - captured here in amazing-audio ... ' Live ' right from the Lille Fairgrounds !!! on 5/13/1972 !! Wow !  I certainly hope that you might have been one of the very-fortunate ones that attended this incredibly mid-May event - over 40-Years ago !  But out of all of these wonderful Europe '72 releases ... this is one of the ones that has me so incredibly " visually " curious - you know ?  I mean here we have the Good Ol' Grateful Dead in an unarguable ' Prime ' - in their 7th year as a band together, and they are playing the " Lille Fairgrounds " - in France !  I mean with this being one of the fewer " Outdoor " Venues on this amazing Tour - there was naturally more space, and less seats ... right ?  So this might very well mean that a number of folks that saw this one, were there because they heard it was the-cool-thing-to-see locally - versus making a G.D. Show an entire plan & destination - like most of us know so well.  And then you break down this phenomenal set list - with the Band playing just this well ( as you'll hear in this set ! ) ... so my point is - some people must have just had their minds-really-Blown !?!  You know, like seeing & hearing something like you've never ever seen or heard before - certainly keeping well in mind that this was Rock 'n Roll's hey-day -- and it was Really ! the beginning hey-day of Live-Concerts ... considering the ground-work like bands the likes of Led Zeppelin had accomplished in the live concert industry.  But this one here ?  In Lille ?  Right at the Public & wide-open Fairgrounds ??  I think it's very safe to say that this one must have really-really snuck-up on some Folks, and when they walked out of this Amazing Show ?  It might have even changed their life ... and it's probably really safe to say that they might have  'changed ' their favorite-band !?!  I just can't imagine ... if You ! were at this one, well here is a pat on the back for you - and a salute too !  Did you see this Guy on the CD Cover ?  Are you this guy on the CD Cover ?  Ha !  Just kidding ... but that would indeed be very cool.  So here's a taste >>> Bertha opener ! - Black Throated Wind - Loser - Mr. Charlie ( naturally ! ) - China > Rider - Big Railroad - Next Time You See Me, and a enormous Playing in the Band ! clocking-in at a short-12:39, but my-goodness did they make it count !  Plus more ... and that's just CD 1!  CD 2 starts out with a nice Sugaree - a poppy-Mexicali ! - heavier Casey Jones ... and then things get Hot ! >>> Truckin' > Drums ( noteworthy from this run ! ) > Other One ! > He's Gone -- you can tell where this is headed !  And then CD 3 !  Hurts Me Too ( extra-bluesy ! ), Sugar Magnolia > Not Fade Away ! > G.D.T.R.F.B. > Not Fade Away !! ... One More Saturday Night !  So, as you can see my fellow Fans, the ' theme ' here is Rock 'n Roll, and I myself just love the " Fairground " style way that they went about it ... in Lille, France !  Fabulous ... Enjoy !!!  Oh, and naturally - you've just gotta love the Mouse ! Art Cover on this one too - so perfectly fitting ...  Just-Spectacular !!!
