Scarce 12" vinyl LP record by E. Koestyara and Group Gapura entitled "Sangkala" from 1985 on the Icon Records label (Catalog #ICON 5501) with a gatefold jacket.  This is modern traditional Indonesian instrumental music (gamelan degung) comprised of flute, percussion, and gongs that is relaxing, meditative, and seductive.

The jacket has light to moderate storage wear and is in nice, VG+ condition.  Inside the gatefold is information about the music in English and French.  The record is pressed on Teldec premium vinyl via Direct Metal Mastering (DMM).  It plays mostly very well, with just a light crackle between a few tracks, and there are a few surface marks on the vinyl.  (Please see photos for greater detail.)   It is rated VG.

Songs are:

  • Baramaen
  • Goyang Karwang
  • Hayam Sebrang
  • Duda
  • Sorban Palid
  • Reumbeuy Bandung
  • Sangkala
  • Kaleran

Record will be shipped outside the jacket in a cardboard padded mailer.  I grade vinyl using Goldmine standards as a guide and Near Mint is my highest grade for preowned vinyl.  I am a longtime record collector (not a store), and I ship Monday-Friday.  I have only one copy of most items in my inventory.

Please know that vinyl is an imperfect medium, and new vinyl (especially colored vinyl and picture discs) can be subject to minor surface noise and/or imperfections.  I rate sealed vinyl "mint" but, as any seasoned record buyer knows, pressing quality will vary.

Your package will usually go out the next business day after purchase, though in rare cases it may take two business days.  I will gladly combine shipping if requested prior to payment.

Thank you for looking!
