Antique Victorian Interior Door
w/5 Panels

Handsome, interior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern PA. The door is made of either solid Douglas Fir or pine and is completely painted white. It has a Victorian style, 5-panel arrangement. All of the panels are raised on both sides.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft   wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same   insect-resistant,  rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old   pine, hewn from trees  hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.

Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of   period hardware to outfit them (check out our eBay store).

* If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with  solid wood, please email us for a quote.

Condition: Considering the door is at least 100 years old, it is strong, sturdy, and in great condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no broken/cracked joints or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be  subtle, "character marks".

Swing: The hinge mortises span the thickness of the door, allowing you to define its swing and install your hinges on either side.

Modification: Do you want to replace the panels with glass, screen/mesh, or something else? We could modify the door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
