Antique Nippon Childs Tea Set with Hand Painted Bluebirds over Pink Roses, 21 Pieces,
Marked on the Bottom with a Blue Hand Painted Nippon rising sun mark. This mark was used between 1891 and 1921.
Includes tea pot, creamer, sugar, 6 plates, 6 tea cups, and 6 saucers
Decorated with hand painted blue birds over pink roses, framed by gold gilt and gold dots. With a band of light pink framed in gold gilding along the top and beaded / dotted garlands below.
The saucers do not have the birds, but the little plates do.
The teapot measures 5 1/2" wide from spout to handle x 4" tall.
The creamer measures 3 1/4" wide from spout to handle x 2 5/8" tall.
The sugar measures 4 1/4" wide from handle to handle x 3" tall.
Each plate measures 4 1/4" wide.
Each tea cup measures 2 7/8" wide including the handle x 1 3/8" tall.
Each saucer measures 3 3/4" wide.
There are two teacups that were cracked and repaired, and a chip in one of the Plates. see pictures 23 & 24
Minor wear to the gilding and Pink Bands on some but otherwise in great condition for the age.
