Inspired by the Empress Theodora and the lost culture of Byzantium is this collar from the 2011 Pre fall Paris-Byzance collection.

Karl Lagerfeld's reference came via Coco's Byzantine-inspired Gripoix jewelry, which is instantly recognizable even today. Features: 

  • Dramatic dangles of violet Gripoix in tear-drop form create a fringe
  • Detailed filigree work
  • Large square cabochons
  • Eleven filigreed gold tone squares linked together for a smooth finish
  • Small faux pearls with tiny glass beads hang from the gold tone squares
