For sale is this incredible authentic ancient Roman gold earring. This earring was produced by a skilled jeweler…. around 2000 years ago! It is made of genuine solid gold (a higher purity alloy, maybe 60-90% or so). It is a relatively decorative earring, with a decorated rim that would have once surrounded a fine gemstone of some kind. The hoop locks into place, which would have kept it from easily coming off. This earring is estimated to date back to the 2nd to 3rd century AD. Provenance: prior to our possession, this piece was purchased through an “Association of International Antiquities Dealers” certified dealer that specializes in Egyptian Antiquities, prev. European market (purchased through London). This is an incredible piece and would make a great addition to any collection! Don’t pass it up!
