I have a very large collection of books spanning many topics.  A massive gathering of Philip K Dick titles and editions, as well as fine press, signed limited editions, modern firsts, radical movement and conceptual art items.  I encourage you to browse my store and categories for a wide range of unique, quality offerings.

Condition: SEE IMAGES.  This is in solid GOOD++ condition, on the verge of VG.  The binding is tight and square.  SEE IMAGE.  Staples starting to pull towards the rear, but NO loss of integrity to the binding, NO loose pages.  SEE IMAGES.  Some creasing/wear to the spine label, not severe.  Minor creasing, primarily to a few page corners, no hard creasing.  Minimal shelfwear.  Internally, NO markings, NO staining, NO tearing. Overall, a nice, attractive copy of a rather scarce periodical.  Nearly 100 years old.  Preserved in an acid-free archival bag.

About: This issue is dedicated to poet Ezra Pound.  The editor/publisher Samuel Roth was a known booklegger, opposed to censorship and in some cases would publish work without permission, including works considered obscene and sexually explicit.

This issue carries the 9th installment of the serialized Ulysses by James Joyce.  A remarkably tumultuous publishing history, I've pulled history from Britannica, Wikipedia as well as other supporting sources, although to me it's still a little muddled (I stand ready to be corrected!).  Ulysses was PARTIALLY excerpted here in the US publication The Little Review from 1918-20, during which time it was litigated and charged as obscene, forced underground and banned in the US for over a decade.  It was first published in entirety in 1922 privately by Shakespeare and Company (Paris), and again that same year to the public by Egoist Press (London).  In the US, during 1926, while still banned, Samuel Roth pirated & serialized Ulysses once again in his own periodical Two Worlds Monthly, and then in 1929 he pirated/published it in a single volume, although it was very corrupted and full of errors.  Although one could consider the Samuel Roth edition/serialization to be the "true" first complete US publication of Ulysses, it was 1932 when Random House LEGALLY was allowed to officially publish the book.

I will happily answer any further questions.

Making offers: I certainly can appreciate wanting a better deal, and I've made offers myself on my own purchases.  To be up front, if and when you make an offer, I will automatically reject crazy low "give it away" offers.  Best not to waste our time.  With a more reasonable offer, I will review current pricing for other comparable items out there and either accept, counter or decline submitted offer.  If in that review, I find my pricing is already LOW and outdated, I may then increase the price to bring more in line with other offerings.  I spend a lot of time sourcing the best offerings, preparing the listings with images and clear descriptions, and price fairly in MOST cases.

I remain grateful to all who consider my offerings, and I look forward to serving your needs respectfully and with success.
