SOME Highlights:

Condition:  SEE IMAGES.  Newspaper print format periodical. This is the vintage, real deal.  Not a reprint.  Not a photocopy.  Not a facsimile.  This issue is in solid VERY GOOD condition.  The pages are LIGHTLY yellowed as is common with newspaper print papers and the passage of 50+ years.  NOT severe, quite mild, barely worth mentioning, but I see it so I do mention it.  There may be some SHORT edge tearing, but not excessive, and nothing long or extending into the content.  The black & white illustrations/photos, all art/photos are sharp.  NO markings.  NO staining/soiling.  NO chipping.  Folded, as originally distributed.  Preserved in an acid-free archival bag with backing board.  IMO, gift or collection quality.

The San Francisco Express Times ran for 62 issued during 1968 & 1969. A newsprint format Underground Press periodical, the issues were filled with articles, essays, local ads, poetry, photos and all sorts of then Current Events. Deep focus was given to the 1968 Chicago Convention and presidential race, university/student/city protests & riots, but there was plenty of other topics of interest. Largely focused on politics, social reform, activism music and arts, these issues really didn?t have boundaries for governing their content (that I can see). Many of the illustrations, full page rear covers, and also the 2-page spread center page illustrates are breathtaking. Photos of great beauty and also others of extreme visuals. Language can be coarse, words and terminology (of the time) often in the extreme, and just a no holds barred approach. Contributors included founder Marvin Garson as well as Paul Williams, Todd Gitlin, William Sarill and others, along with a serialization of the novel Berkeley Guns by Lenny Heller. Per the Wiki, FOIA documents released have shown that the FBI had infiltrated the SF Express Times (as well as others) with paid informants on staff.

I will happily answer any further questions.

Making offers: I certainly can appreciate wanting a better deal, and I've made offers myself on my own purchases.  To be up front, if and when you make an offer, I will automatically reject crazy low "give it away" offers.  Best not to waste our time.  With a more reasonable offer, I will review current pricing for other comparable items out there and either accept, counter or decline submitted offer.  If in that review, I find my pricing is already LOW and outdated, I may then increase the price to bring more in line with other offerings.  I spend a lot of time sourcing the best offerings, preparing the listings with images and clear descriptions, and price fairly in MOST cases.

I remain grateful to all who consider my offerings, and I look forward to serving your needs respectfully and with success.
