About: IN GERMAN.  Edition limited to 400 copies, of which this is numbered 56.  There are 5 original woodcuts by Moissey Kogan, 3 within text and 2 full page.  Der Querschnitt was an important, influential German fashion magazine, at the forefront of the German Expressionist Movement.  Founded by Alfred Flechtheim, and for a period under the editorship of Hermann von Wedderkop, Der Querschnitt ran from 1921-1936.  The magazine showed art, photography, poetry, articles, stories and the like.  A wonderful example of book as art.

Condition: SEE IMAGES.  NO DUST JACKET (as issued?).  This is right about 100 years old.  This book is in SOLID acceptable condition.  There is foxing/spotting/yellowing to the spine strip, as well as significant yellowing around the front/rear boards.  The gilt lettering on the spine still glints in the RIGHT LIGHT, but has certainly lost vibrancy over the years.  A couple of spots to the rear board, along with a small stain to the lower edge.  The board tips are bumped, with some light fraying primarily to the lower left corner area of the rear board.  Exterior flaws aside, the BINDING of this book remains sounds and square, not squishy, no loose pages.  The he hinge is starting to pull, not bad. Internally, pages lightly/partially toned, NOT dark or severe, NOT brittle.  The artwork, text AND photographs are unmarred, and to be appreciated. There is a small stain to the lower margin edge starting pg 157 to the end.  SEE IMAGE for sizing. The Book is preserved in an acid-free archival bag.
