This is a vintage Regulator clock dating back to the mid 20th Century. It has a 'rolling pin" case made from mixed wood (pine /oak), a plexi-glass front with brass bezel and hinges, and a tin dial / face. The mechanism is "time & strike" (striking on a gong). The pendulum and key on this clock is missing and it is untested, so I'm selling this clock as NOT WORKING. I'm sure though this is an easy fix for someone who knows how, or perhaps a labor of love for someone looking for a restoration project; and just as it is, it makes a lovely decorative piece for someone looking for that retro look to complete a room.
Also of interest is that this clock was sourced at the Sony Prop House in Los Angeles (which closed down in September 2023). On the back it is marked "Sony", so if you think you may have seen this clock in a film or T.V. show then you probably have! I have no C.O.A. though other then the Sony markings which I assume were added so they could keep track of it on a studio set somewhere.
Besides the Sony markings it also has an Asian label on its back. This clock was made in Korea. Round about the mid Century (and after) a lot of Korean / Japanese manufacturers made wall clocks based on the old European / German clocks.
CONDITION, PLEASE READ the description. This clock is NOT WORKING. It has no key or pendulum. Aesthetically this clock shows definite signs of age and wear as most great vintage items do. The wood case has nicks and marks in places - most of which I'm sure will buff out with a suitable polish / wax if you prefer that look. Examine all the pictures closely.
