Tamiya 1/35 Scale Sd.Kfz.161 Panzer IV Ausf.D Tank Model Kit

Introduction:

You will be bidding on a 1/35 scale model kit of an Sd.Kfz. 161 Panzerkampfwagen IV Tank. This model kit was produced by Tamiya. The Sd.Kfz.161 Panzerkampfwagen IV was the most widely produced German tank and was used throughout the duration of the Second World War by Axis forces. German tanks were continually developed throughout the war and this model kit represents an Ausf.D version which was a natural evolution of the design and featured a number of small improvements such as a 35mm thick external gun mantlet, 20mm thicker armour on the sides and a number of other small design changes. 248 were Ausf.D were produced before production switched to the Ausf.E.

This Model Kit:

This model kit is complete and unstarted. All of the parts are still on the sprues and sealed in the original bags except the hull part which is separate as it came. Decals are sealed in with the parts and in good condition, as are the instructions. The box is in good shape and just has some typical minor shelf wear here and there.

Kit Features and Details:

This kit is moulded in grey plastic with metallic rubber tracks. It is a very detailed model kit throughout and features just about everything you could reasonably expect to find on a 1/35 scale model kit in terms of details. Engraved and raised panels and surfaces, riveting and other raised details where appropriate, support equipment such as cables, picks, shovels. axes and more, a very complex looking multi-wheel track set up with rubber tracks, separate hatches, engine covers, large armour panels, a detailed turret gun mounting which can rotate and traverse when built and many, many more details too numerous to mention. Also included are three nice figures to position in the hatches, a Tank Commander figure to stand in the top turret hatch, one climbing out of a side hatch and a drivers upper torso and head. Looks like it should build into an excellent model of the type, a great model of this widely used and produced German WW2 tank design. As mentioned this one has been started but most of the work is left to do and everything is still present to continue and complete a great model.
