Antique late 19th century Japanese Meiji era Shibayama Koro (censer). The silver body is applied with a very fine enamel, both sides are decorated with masterfully finely carved plates of mother-of-pearl in different colors and figures carved from bone. The shaped foot and top are decorated with fine, colorful enamel between delicate filigree reserves, the lid is decorated with the figure of an eagle about to soar. The piece is from the Meiji period (1890-1912), acid tested, with the Hungarian import mark on the bottom and cover (950+ silver standard), master marked on the bottom.
