This is a rare example of a double picture frame made with fabric, possibly silk with embroided flowers and old gold trimmings around.

However some people say it is actually a book protection cover for a very small book that would go inside the insert (?)

In any case it is a really nice piece of very old workmanship

The fabric material has been a bit degraded, there is fraying, see pictures

It is possible to insert a picture in each frame, as the frame lifts a bit on the internal side
