Maker and age: On the reverse of these 9 exquisite dessert or fruit bowls by Latrille Frères Old Abbey Limoges are the company's green underglaze mark number 1, which dates production of the porcelain to between 1899 and 1913, and mark number 3, which dates its decoration to between 1908 and 1913.

Latrille Frères produced high quality porcelain wares for the brief period between 1899 and 1913 in an old abbey in Limoges, producing goods that were decorated by Latrille as well as sold to other decorators.

Design: In keeping with the exceptionally high quality that made the region's porcelain so famous and so coveted, the set is beautifully hand painted with tiny pink roses, delicate yellow flowers and green leaves, highlighted by opulent gold daubs.

Many of the great Limoges companies produced variations of the classic and hugely popular pattern of delicate pink roses against a pure white background. That means this set would easily blend into similar services by Latrille, Haviland or other Limoges makers.

Size and weight: The bowls are 5 1/2 inches wide and 1 inch tall. Together they weigh 2 pounds 7 ounces.

Condition: They are in excellent condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, stains, repairs, scratches, crazing or utensil marks. Several have tiny embedded dark spots and pinprick holes that were created in the manufacturing process; this was typical of Limoges porcelain of this era. One has a larger manufacturing flaw - that's shown in the photo with the red arrow.

Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
