Maker: This delightful covered bowl or casserole is by Ceramica Giovanni of Vietri Sul Mare, Italy.

On the base is the handwritten inscription Cer. Giovanni Vietri.

Design: The handmade and hand painted dish features a wonderful pink and blue geometric band with dark blue handles.

Size: The base is 9 7/8 inches wide and 4 inches tall. The two pieces together weigh 6 pounds 2 ounces.

Condition: The base is in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, discoloration, wear or repairs. It has a small manufacturing flaw inside. There is a chip on the edge of the lid - it's shown in the photos with the red arrow and penny.

Both pieces have several of the tiny pinpricks and irregularities that are typical of handmade Italian ceramics and part of their charm.
