For sale is a nice Victorian late19th CENTURY GOLD CASED PROPELLING PENCIL
Circular in section with engine turned decoration with a cast ornate terminal with monogrammed top.
The engine turned decoration on this pencil case is of diamond decoration with contrasting ornate slider and collar.
The cast terminal end screws off to reveal a seven tubed lead storage area ~ evident on better quality pencils
The ornate ring slider pushes up the pencil nozzle.
There are no hallmarks or makers marks. However the pencil case has been confirmed by the Assay Office as 9ct using XRF non intrusive testing.
This good quality piece is in good working condition. There is a slight "nick" where a file was used at some stage to establish gold (wish people did not do that!)
The propelling pin is present and functioning.
